ML and its subsidiary companies

Metropolitano de Lisboa provides public transport services by metro in the city of Lisbon and neighbouring municipalities under concession.

The Lisbon Metro holds shares in seven companies. It owns 100% of Ferconsult, which focuses on transport engineering and projects, and Metrocom, a commercial space management company. It holds a 5% stake in Ensintrans, a company dedicated to studies and projects, and 90% in each of the companies Trem I and II, which deal with rolling stock leasing. It also owns 40% of Publimetro, a company specialising in advertising, a share of 15.82% in the Railway Competence Centre. Ferconsult also holds shares in Ensintrans and the companies Trem I and II, with 45% and 10% respectively.

 

Purpose, scope and management principles

Metropolitano de Lisboa, E.P.E. is a Public Business Entity with legal personality, endowed with administrative, financial and patrimonial autonomy, governed by its own statutes and by the laws applicable to public companies.

To provide a public passenger transport service in metro or other mobility systems in a dedicated channel, which includes the overall management of the infrastructure, namely the design, construction production and operation, including the operation of commercial spaces, customer-oriented, under a concession granted by the State, promoting sustainable mobility and aiming at improving the quality of life of current and future generations.
